Removal
1.
WARNING: Do not smoke or allow lighted cigarettes or any open flame when working with or near any fuel containing components. Highly flammable mixtures are always present in such situations and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
2. Loosen the nuts on the right rear wheel.
3. Remove the fuel tank filler cap.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
5. Remove the right rear wheel.
6. Remove the right rear wheel fender splash guard.

CAUTION: When removing the fuel tank vent and filler lines, do not use sharp-edged tools to pry the lines. Failure to do so may result in damage to the lines.
NOTE: To ensure proper installation of the retaining clamps, mark their position before removing them.
Disconnect the fuel tank vent and filler lines.

8. Remove the fuel filler line bolts.

9. Loosen the rear cross member bolts.
- Partially lower the cross member.

10. Remove the fuel filler line.

Installation

NOTE: The filler and vent pipe retaining clamps must be installed in the same locations from which they were removed.
Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
