Accelerator cable (1.6L Zetec-SE/1.4L) — removal and installation (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the air cleaner outlet pipe.



2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket.

• 1. Turn the cable housing.
• 2. Remove the clamp.
• 3. Disconnect the cable from the throttle body.

3. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the clamp.



4. Remove the footwell trim panel.





5. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the pedal.



6. To make installation easier, tie a wire to the accelerator cable that can be used to pull the cable.



7. Remove the accelerator cable.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Before installing the accelerator cable into the grommet, the rubber grommet must be inserted into the bulkhead.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
