Accelerator cable (1.8L/2.0L/1.6L Zetec-E) — removal and installation (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

• 1. Remove the accelerator cable mounting clamp.
• 2. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the bracket.

• 1. To release the cable, turn it.
• 2. Disconnect the accelerator cable.

3. Remove the footwell trim panel.



4. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the pedal.





5. To make installation easier, tie a wire to the accelerator cable that can be used to pull the cable.



6. Remove the accelerator cable.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Before installing the accelerator cable into the grommet, the rubber grommet must be inserted into the bulkhead.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
