Acceleration control (accelerator) (Focus 1)

            0

The acceleration control system consists of an accelerator pedal and an accelerator cable. The driver, pressing the accelerator pedal, installed in the passenger compartment and connected by a cable to the throttle body, gives a command to the throttle valve. The return of the pedal to its original position is ensured by the return spring of the throttle valve.

Inspection and verification

1. Clarify the customer's complaint by checking whether the system is working properly.

2. Perform a visual inspection for obvious signs of mechanical damage.

Visual inspection table

Mechanical factors:
  • Throttle body
  • Accelerator pedal
  • Accelerator cable

3. If an obvious cause for the problem you have identified or the customer has described is found, correct it (if possible) before proceeding with further actions.

4. If the problem is not visually obvious, check the symptom and refer to the Symptom Table.
