Removal

WARNING: Do not smoke or carry a lighted cigarette or open flame of any type when working with or near fuel-related items. Highly flammable vapors are always present in such situations and may ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
CAUTION: Diesel fuel injection equipment is manufactured to very precise tolerances and with very small clearances. Therefore, it is especially important to maintain absolute cleanliness when working with these components. Always plug any open ports or lines.
Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
NOTE: Fuel supply line connectors are colored white or identified by a white border. Fuel return line connectors are colored red or identified by a red border.
2. Disconnect the fuel filter supply and return fuel lines.
3. Remove the return fuel line retaining clamp.
4. Remove the fuel return line.
5. Remove the fuel filter.
- 1. Press the clamp.
- 2. To remove the fuel filter, pull it.
6. Remove the fuel filter from the bracket.
- 1. Remove the screw.
- 2. Remove the fuel filter.
Installation

NOTE: Before installing the filter, make sure the fuel filter is filled with fuel.
NOTE: Make sure you align the arrows on the fuel filter and the fuel filter bracket.
Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
