ORDER OF EXECUTION
  1. Disconnect the wires from the battery.
  2. Carefully release the fuel lines on the filter housing and drain the fuel escaping under pressure.
  3. Remove the fuel filter. Drain any remaining fuel and dispose of as special waste.
  4. Before installing the new filter, fill the housing with clean diesel fuel.
  5. Tighten all pipes and...
  6. ...connect the battery.
  7. Turn on the ignition for about 30 seconds and...

Circulation of diesel fuel through fuel lines:

1 — Pipeline to the electric pump,
2 — Pipeline to the fuel filter,
3 - Drain pipe to the tank,
4 - Drain pipe to the filter,
    5 — Regulating valve.

  8. ...then start the engine and let it idle until it runs smoothly. During this procedure, the Mondeo diesel is automatically ventilated.
  9. Check all connections and the filter flange for leaks.

Binding of water condensate - diesel fuel

Diesel fuel has poor properties to absorb water condensate and carry pollutants with it. Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to adhere to the prescribed replacement interval of the fuel filter or to change it after a long trip outside of Europe. Unfortunately, the previously used dehydration valves in modern diesel filters are increasingly becoming out of fashion, so that the filter housing is no longer dried and the condensate is no longer drained.
