Emptying the tank without fuel pump

            0

The Mondeo fuel tank does not have a drain screw. Since the intake and drain pipes are located at the top of the tank, it is not so easy to drain the fuel. If you don't have a hand pump (hose bellows pump), then try your luck with the following method.

PROCEDURE
  1. Put the car on the goats as high as possible and disconnect the battery wires.
  2. Lower the hose into the filling pipe to the bottom of the tank (a piece of garden hose will do). Bevel the end of the hose in the tank along a length of approximately 40 millimeters.
  3. Hold the other opening of the hose as high as possible and close it with the end of your finger. The receiving container should already be as low as possible under the tank opening. Now turn the closed end of the hose very quickly and very deeply into the receiving container and immediately detach your finger from the hole. Assuming that the beveled end of the hose is still «located» in gasoline, then gasoline flows into the receiving tank. If it doesn't work, repeat this procedure. Attention: never suck fuel with your mouth - the risk of poisoning is quite high!
  4. If the tank is not completely empty and you have too little «slope» between two containers, the fuel remains exactly where you poured it from - in the tank. So then use the proper hand pump.
