Fuel filter replacement

            0

In accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations, the fuel filter is replaced after 20 thousand kilometers. However, taking into account the experience of operating cars in Russian conditions, we recommend replacing it every 10-15 thousand kilometers. Jerks when the car is moving, first at high and then at low speeds, most likely indicate a clogged filter.

The fuel filter is mounted on the bottom of the body in front of the fuel tank, so it is more convenient to work on a lift or an inspection ditch.

1. Reduce the pressure in the fuel supply system (see «Reducing the pressure in the power system»).

2. Squeeze the clips and disconnect the tip of the fuel supply line from the filter.

3. Similarly, disconnect the tip of the outlet fuel line from the filter and remove the fuel filter.

Note. Before disconnecting the tips of the fuel lines from the fuel filter, substitute a container to collect the flowing gasoline from the fuel lines and the filter.

4. Install a new fuel filter in the reverse order of removal, so that the arrow on the cylindrical part of the filter housing coincides with the direction of fuel flow. Connect the ends of the fuel hoses to the filter by moving along the fittings until the latches snap into place.

Attention! After installing the fuel filter, be sure to check the fuel filter connections to the fuel lines with the engine running for gasoline leaks. If necessary, repeat the operation of connecting the fuel lines until they are securely fixed. If leaks from the connections persist, replace the fuel line end o-rings or fuel line assemblies.
