Checking the level and adding oil to the gearbox (Fusion)

You will need: an 8 mm Allen key and a syringe.

Note: No oil change (only topping up) is required during the entire service life of the gearbox.


Note: Fill the gearbox with BO 400075 SAE 80W oil, recommended by the manufacturer according to Ford specification. If it is not available, Castrol or Mobil transmission oil of API GL-4/5 quality class, SAE 80W-90 can be used as a substitute.


Note: If the vehicle is operated for a long time at ambient temperatures below -30°C, we recommend replacing the factory oil with SAE 75W transmission oil.


1. Place the vehicle on a lift or inspection pit.

3. …and remove the gearshift housing cover.

4. Unscrew the gearbox oil filler plug located on the gearbox housing.

5. Bend the wire as shown in the photo…

6. …and measure the oil level. It should be at the edge of the oil filler hole or slightly below.

7. If the oil level is low, fill the oil with a syringe through the oil filler hole until it appears from the hole, then tighten the oil filler plug.
