Checking the level and adding oil to the lubrication system

            0

The consumption of engine oil during the operation of the car is completely normal, so you should regularly check the oil level in the engine. Be sure to check the oil level before a long trip.

Engine oil consumption depends on driving style, climate and road conditions.

Normal oil consumption can be up to 1 liter per 1000 kilometers. An unbroken engine may consume slightly more.

You will need: engine oil, funnel, clean rag.

RECOMMENDATION: Engine oil is essential for engine performance and durability. Use only high quality oil.

The manufacturer recommends using oil of ACEA B3 quality level, API SJ viscosity grade SAE 10W-40 or 5W-30 (depending on climatic conditions).

WARNING: Before checking the oil level after a ride, stop the engine and wait 5-10 minutes for the oil to drain into the oil sump.

Add oil of the same brand, viscosity and quality class as previously used.

The oil level in the engine crankcase must not exceed the maximum mark, otherwise leaks through gaskets and seals, as well as increased oil consumption, are possible.

In addition, if the oil level is too high, the crankshaft counterweights are vigorously agitated and foam is formed. Foam that has entered the internal cavities of the oil pump disrupts its operation.

Check the level with the vehicle on a level surface.

Oil filler plug A and oil level gauge B (oil dipstick) located on the cylinder head cover.

1. Remove the oil level indicator (oil dipstick) (shown with engine cover removed for clarity) …

2….wipe it with a clean cloth…

3….and reinsert.

4. Remove the pointer again (probe). The oil film level must be between the MIN and MAX marks. If the oil level approaches or falls below the MIN·mark, add oil.

NOTE: The MIN and MAX marks on the photo are applied conditionally. They are not on the oil level indicator, they correspond to the upper and lower risks, respectively.

5. To add oil, turn the oil filler cap counterclockwise..

6….and remove it.

7. Install a funnel in the neck and pour oil into the engine, monitoring the oil level according to the indicator. Before removing the pointer, wait 2-3 minutes to allow the oil to drain into the crankcase.

8. After the oil level reaches the required level, tighten the filler cap.
