2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the pedal.
3. Remove the cable housing from the bulkhead and pull the cable into the engine compartment.
4. On engines with a carburetor, remove the air filter.
5. On V6 engines, remove the throttle linkage cover, which is secured with three screws (indicated by arrows).
6. Disconnect the cable from the throttle actuator lever (indicated by the arrow) on the carburetor or injection system module.
7. Remove the cable sheath from the bracket.
8. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Adjust the cable by rotating the threaded sleeve of the casing outlet so that when the pedal is released, there is a slight sag in the cable.
