All V6, 2.4 and 2.9 dm³ engines can run on unleaded petrol 95 (Unleaded Premium).
On 2.9 dm³ engines with manual transmission installed from December 1988 and models with automatic transmission installed from July 1988, there is no need to adjust the ignition parameters when using unleaded petrol. These models can be distinguished by the suffix after the number on the ignition module. Models with manual transmission should have the suffix "JA", models with automatic transmission - "BD".
On all other models the ignition timing must be adjusted before using unleaded petrol. This can be done by installing an octane correction wire. On the 2.4 and 2.9 dm³ engines this wire must be installed and the red input grounded - this will reduce the ignition timing by 4° from the specified value of 12° BTDC, determining the correct retard value of 8° BTDC.
Only unleaded gasoline should be used in vehicles with a catalytic converter.
