Removal and installation of the fuel tank

It is possible to remove the fuel tank after the fuel has been completely depleted or if a special evacuation pump is available.

1. Remove ground wire from battery.

2. If there is fuel in the tank, pump it out with a special pump.

3. Remove two screws on each side of the fuel filler neck.

4. Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands.

5. Remove the guard from the inner arch of the right rear wheel and the lower screen of the rear bumper, fastened with six screws.

6. Remove the fuel supply and return lines from the fuel tank.

7. While holding the fuel tank, unscrew the two bolts from the rear tank holder.

8. Lower the fuel tank with retaining bars, unhook the front ends of the bars from the locks.

9. Disconnect the wire from the fuel level sensor.

10. Disconnect the breather hose from the fuel tank.

11. Remove the fuel tank with the filler neck attached to it.

12. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
