The fuel tank can be removed after the fuel has been completely used up or if a special pump is available.
1. Remove the ground wire from the battery.
2. If there is fuel in the tank, pump it out using a special pump.
3. Remove the two screws on each side of the fuel tank filler neck.
4. Raise the rear of the vehicle and secure it on stands.
5. Remove the shield from the inner arch of the right rear wheel and the lower screen of the rear bumper, which is secured with six screws.
6. Remove the fuel supply and return lines from the fuel tank.
7. While holding the fuel tank, remove the two bolts from the rear fuel tank mounting bracket.
8. Lower the fuel tank with the retaining bars, unhook the front ends of the bars from the locks.
9. Disconnect the wire from the fuel level sensor.
10. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the fuel tank.
11. Remove the fuel tank with the filler neck attached to it.
12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
