Air filter for DOHC engines with carburetor





1 - housing, 2 - filter element, 3 - cover, 4 - heated air supply pipe, 5 - cold air supply pipe


1. Loosen the air filter cover screws.

2. Remove spring clips and air filter cover.

3. Remove air filter.

4. Wipe the inside surface of the air filter housing.

5. Disconnect the cold air intake line.

6. Disconnect the vacuum pipe from the intake manifold and the hot air line from the exhaust manifold intake.

7. Unscrew the screws securing the air filter housing to the cylinder head cover.


8. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

DOHC engines with fuel injection system



DOHC Engine Air Filter with Fuel Injection

1. Disconnect the connector from the idle speed control valve at the front of the overpressure chamber.

2. Remove the intake hose from the air intake tube.

3. Unscrew the fastening nut and remove the air intake tube from the bracket on the front panel of the engine compartment.

4. Remove the air filter cover retaining spring clips, then disconnect and remove the air intake tube, overpressure chamber and air filter cover as one assembly by disconnecting the crankcase breather hose from the air intake tube.

5. Remove the air filter, noting how it was installed.

6. Wipe the inside surface of the air filter housing.

7. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.

Engines with fuel injection system

1 - housing, 2 - filter element, 3 - cover, 4 - air flow meter, 5 - nozzles



1. Remove the 4 spring clips securing the air filter cover.

2. Lift the cover and move it to the side. To completely remove the cover, disconnect the meter or unscrew the cover.

3. Remove the air filter, noting how it was installed.

4. Wipe the inside surface of the air filter housing.

5. Unscrew the three fastening nuts under the left wheel arch, disconnect the air filter housing from the air intake hose and remove it.

6. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
