To minimize the noise associated with air intake, the intake pipe contains several auxiliary containers, the so-called resonators. The resonators reduce the vibration of the air in the intake system. Air is sucked in through a branch pipe under the left front wing. The first two resonators are also located there.
Along the inner surface of the wing there is a channel "6" to the air filter "7", from which the sucked air through the flow meter (MAF sensor) "8" enters the next two resonators "9".
Removal
Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.
Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or radio code. Please read the section "Removing and installing the battery" carefully before disconnecting it.
Unscrew the hose clamps "1". Disconnect the two clamps "2". Disconnect the multi-pin plug "3" from the air flow meter.
Remove the air flow meter from the air cleaner and remove it.
Disconnect the rubber fastening element and remove the air filter housing.
Remove the central resonator from the rubber element.
Gasoline engine: Unscrew the mounting clamps. Loosen the three bolts or nuts and remove the air box located above the intake manifold. If present, disconnect the air hose from the bottom of the air box.
Installation
Installation is performed in the reverse order compared to dismantling. When installing the air filter housing, make sure that the lower locking pins engage in the rubber nozzles.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable. Set the existing clock and set the radio anti-theft code.
