Removing the fuel tank in a four-wheel drive model (Mondeo 1)

Removal

The fuel tank is removed in the same way as in other models, but the following preparatory work must be carried out:



To release the part of the tank opposite the filler pipe, unscrew the screw plug and insert the suction pipe of the pump.

Remove the exhaust pipe, see item 8.

Unscrew the exhaust pipe heat shield, which protects the drive shaft and fuel tank, from the bottom.

Remove the propeller shaft, to do this, unscrew the transfer case, unscrew the central support and the rear axle drive, see p. 10.5.

Installation

Screw in the screw plug.

After installing the tank, secure the heat shield.

Install the driveshaft.

Install the exhaust pipe, see item 8.
