Removal and installation of system of release of the fulfilled gases

            0

Attention! Production models use two-piece exhaust systems, this system can be replaced with a three- or four-piece exhaust system in the event of a repair. In serial systems, the middle silencer cannot be replaced separately; in case of repair, the other two silencers must also be replaced. If it is necessary to replace only the additional silencer, then the exhaust system must be cut.

Withdrawal

Disconnect the ground wire (-) from the battery.

Attention! As a result, data in electronic storage devices, such as an engine fault memory or a radio code, are erased. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Raise the vehicle.

Spray all mounting bolts and nuts of the exhaust system with a rust-dissolving spray. The aerosol should act on the rust for some time.

Disconnect the rear of the exhaust system from its front.

Petrol engines: remove the oxygen sensor -1-. To do this, disconnect the multi-pin plug -2-; When disconnecting the plug, do not pull on the wire. Unscrew the oxygen sensor on the front exhaust pipe and remove it together with the seal. Do not touch the tip of the measuring probe and do not allow it to become dirty.

Unscrew the front exhaust pipe from the manifold, it is fastened with two nuts -3-. Note the mounting position of the springs.

Check rubber retainers for cracks. To do this, lightly press the exhaust pipe down. Light the connecting hoses with a flashlight, check and, if necessary, replace them.

Disconnect the exhaust pipes from all rubber holders and remove them. Disconnect the secondary muffler from the middle muffler, see next section.

Installation

Replace rubber holders if necessary.

Attention! Rubber holders in the catalyst location area are made of a special heat-resistant material. Therefore, only the intended holders may be used here.

Before installation, clean the manifold, front exhaust pipe flange and connecting flange with a steel brush. Use only new bolts and nuts for installation. Apply a coat of high temperature paste to all bolts and nuts (e.g. Liqui Moly LM-508-ASC pastes), so that they can be unscrewed more easily at a later stage.

Attention! High temperature paste must not enter the exhaust system before the catalytic converter. Do not use a liquid sealant, as the catalyst will become contaminated during operation.

Install the front exhaust pipe with a new seal and bolt it to the manifold.

Attention! New spacers, springs and pins can be pre-mounted to release the compressed spring, do not pull out the stud, loosen the compressed spring by gradually releasing the nut. Install new spacer pins to exhaust manifold and secure with pins.

Install the rear exhaust pipe with a new seal and secure it with bolts.

Install the exhaust system in the rubber holders. Align the individual parts of the system with each other and orient it relative to the bottom of the car. Make sure that the rubber elements experience the same load and do not deform.

Attention! The distance between the exhaust system and all parts of the vehicle must be at least 25 mm.

Tighten the fasteners connecting the rear and front exhaust pipes to 40 Nm.

Screw on the new self-locking nuts securing the front exhaust pipe to the manifold, screw them on until the nuts come into contact with the shoulder of the spacer fingers, then tighten them to a torque of 40 Nm.

Carefully install the oxygen sensor with a new seal, tighten it to 60 Nm. Connect the connecting plug.

Lower the car onto its wheels.

Connect the ground wire to the battery. Set your existing clock and set the radio's anti-theft code.

Start the engine and check the exhaust system for leaks. To do this, cover the end of the pipe with a rag. If the engine stalls, the exhaust system is sealed.
