Gasoline engine
If the fuel pump does not turn on (no operating noise, no power supply), then the power supply must be checked as follows: The safety switch at the bottom left in the footwell must be on. The fuel pump fuse must be OK. Fuse data see item 20.13. If no errors are found, check the fuel pump relay and replace it if necessary. Relay check, see item 20.6.
Removal
Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery.
Warning! This will erase data in electronic memory devices, such as the engine fault memory device or the radio code. Please read the section carefully "Removing and installing the battery", before disconnecting it.

Open the engine hood. Release the retaining clip and lift up the fuse box cover.
Carefully lift up the fuel pump relay "arrow" and replace it with a working relay.
Installation
Install the fuse box cover, install and tighten the retaining clip.
Connect the ground (-) wire to the battery. Set the existing clock and set the radio code.
Start the engine and check its functions.
