General information about the fuel system (Mondeo 1)

            0

The fuel system includes the fuel tank, the fuel pump located in the fuel tank (only in gasoline engines), fuel lines, fuel and air filters. The actual gasoline or diesel fuel injection systems are described in separate chapters.

The fuel tank is made of plastic and is located under the rear seat in front of the rear axle. All-wheel drive models have a two-chamber ventilated fuel tank. A fuel level indicator tells the driver how much fuel is left in the tank.

Models with petrol engines are equipped with a safety switch that switches off the fuel pump in case of an accident or overload. The switch is installed in front of the driver's door on the left side wall.

Diesel models are equipped with a diesel fuel heater to ensure trouble-free operation of the vehicle in cold weather.
