Replacing the fuel filter on cars with gasoline engines (Fiesta 4)

SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Raise the vehicle and secure it on supports.

3. Place a container under the fuel filter (near the right rear wheel, to the right of the fuel tank).

4. Unscrew the fuel line fittings with a rag.

5. To slowly release the pressure, slowly release the fuel line fasteners. When releasing the quick-release clamps, use your fingers to squeeze the fastening tabs in both grooves of the quick-release clamp and simultaneously release the clamp (Fig. 10.4).



6. Loosen the bolt and pull the fuel filter out of the bracket. Drain the fuel from the old fuel filter and dispose of it in a designated area.

7. When installing a new filter, observe the direction of fuel flow (arrow on the housing).

8. Clean the fittings and install the fuel lines correctly.

9. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery and turn on the ignition for 30 seconds to create pressure in the fuel system.

10. Carefully check the fuel line connections for leaks.

11. Lower the vehicle.
