Replacing the fuel filter on vehicles with gasoline engines

SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. Disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the storage battery.

2. Raise the car and secure it on supports.

3. Place a container under the fuel filter (next to the right rear wheel, to the right of the fuel tank).

4. Turn away a rag the union of fuel lines.

5. Slowly release the fuel line fasteners to relieve pressure slowly. When releasing the quick-release clips with your fingers, squeeze the fastening tabs in both slots of the quick-release clip and simultaneously release the clip (pic. 10.4).

6. Turn away a bolt and extend the fuel filter from a bracket. Drain the fuel from the old fuel filter and dispose of it in a designated area.

7. When installing a new filter, pay attention to the direction of fuel flow (arrow on the body).

8. Clean fittings and fit fuel lines correctly.

9. Connect the wire to the negative terminal of the battery and turn on the ignition for 30 seconds to create pressure in the power system.

10. Carefully check the fuel line connections for leaks.

11. Lower the car.
