Removing water from the fuel filter of vehicles with diesel engines

            0

Diesel fuel has the disadvantage of binding condensed moisture and absorbing dirt particles. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically (every 10,000 km of vehicle run) remove water from the fuel filter.

SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. Place a container under the fuel filter. Attach the extension hose to the fuel drain plug.

2. Unscrew the plug by hand and drain the fuel from the filter until clean fuel flows (pic. 10.5).

3. Screw on the cap securely.

4. Remove the container.

5. Start up the engine and slightly increase frequency of rotation of a cranked shaft. After 60 seconds, the system should be pre-pressurized and the engine should start running smoothly.

6. Check fuel filter for leaks.
