Removing water from the fuel filter of cars with diesel engines (Fiesta 4)

Diesel fuel has the disadvantage of binding condensed moisture and absorbing dirt particles. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically (every 10,000 km of vehicle mileage) remove water from the fuel filter.



SEQUENCE OF WORKS

1. Place a container under the fuel filter. Attach the extension hose to the fuel drain plug.

2. Use your hand to unscrew the plug and drain the fuel from the filter until clean fuel flows out (Fig. 10.5).

3. Screw the cap on securely.

4. Remove the container.

5. Start the engine and increase the crankshaft speed slightly. After 60 seconds, the system should build up pre-pressure and the engine should start running smoothly.

6. Check the fuel filter for leaks.
