Disconnection
WARNING: Do not smoke or walk with a lit cigarette or any type of open flame while working on or near fuel related items. There are always highly flammable vapors that can ignite. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
WARNING: This procedure is related to fuel handling. Always be aware of the possibility of fuel splashing and observe fuel handling precautions. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.
CAUTION: The fuel injection system hardware is manufactured to very precise tolerances and with minimal clearances. Therefore, it is especially important to observe absolute cleanliness when working with these elements. Open holes or lines should always be plugged with appropriate plugs.
NOTE: Fuel line connectors are painted white or identified by a white rim. Fuel return line connectors are colored red or identified by a red rim.
1. Relieve pressure in the fuel system. For more information, refer to the chapter Relieving Pressure in the Fuel Supply System found in this section.
2. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.
- 1. Press the locking elements of the fuel line quick coupler.
- 2. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.
3. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.
- 1. Pull the locking element of the fuel line quick coupler.
- 2. Press the fuel line quick coupling clamp to release the fuel line.
4. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.
- 1. Press the locking elements of the fuel line quick coupler.
- 2. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.
5. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.
- Press the fuel line quick coupler buttons and pull on the fuel line to disconnect it.
6. Release the fuel tank vent line quick coupling.
- Push in the locking lug of the fuel tank vent line quick coupling.
7. Disconnect the fuel tank vent line quick coupling
8. Release the vent line quick coupling.
- Push in the locking lug of the fuel line quick coupler.
9. Disconnect the fuel line quick coupler.

CAUTION: After installation, pull on the fuel line to make sure it is properly installed.
Install the fuel line quick coupler.

CAUTION: After installation, pull on the vent line to ensure it is seated correctly.
Install the fuel tank vent line quick coupling.

CAUTION: When installing the fuel line, make sure it snaps into position. Pull on the fuel line to make sure it is connected correctly.
Install the fuel line quick coupler.

NOTE: Make sure the lug on the fuel line is fully engaged with the fuel line quick coupler.
Install the fuel line quick coupler.
5.
NOTE: Make sure the lug on the fuel line is fully engaged with the fuel line quick coupler before locking the retainer.
Install the fuel line quick coupler.
- 1. Install the fuel line quick coupler retainer.
- 2. Rotate the locking element of the fuel line quick coupler to the required position.
6.
NOTE: Make sure the lug on the fuel line is fully engaged with the fuel line quick coupler before locking the retainer.
Install the fuel line quick coupler.
- 1. Install fuel line quick coupler.
- 2. Install the fuel line quick coupler retainer in the desired position.
