Fuel Supply Manifold (1.6L Duratec) (Focus 1)

Removal

1. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Section 310-00 for additional information.

2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hoses from the intake manifold and place them aside.



3. Disconnect the fuel injection system wiring harness from the fuel rail.



4. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors.

NOTE: Fuel supply line connectors are colored white or identified by a white border. Fuel return line connectors are colored red or identified by a red border.

Disconnect the fuel supply and return lines from the fuel rail. Refer to Section 310-00 for additional information.



6. Disconnect the fuel rail.



7. Remove the fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line.



8. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.

• 1. Remove the clamp.
• 2. Remove the fuel pressure regulator.
• Discard the O-rings as they are no longer needed.

9. Remove the fuel injectors from the fuel rail.

• 1. Remove the clamp.
• 2. Remove the fuel injector.
• Discard the sealing rings as they are no longer needed.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Install a new fuel injector O-ring.

NOTE: Install a new fuel pressure regulator O-ring.

Install the elements back in place in reverse order.
