Clutch elements

Pos. | Spare Part No | Name |
1 | Clutch pressure plate
2 | Slave (friction) clutch disc
3 | Flywheel |
The clutch transmits torque from the engine to the gearbox. The clutch includes a driven (friction) disk and a pressure plate, which is attached to the flywheel with bolts.
When the clutch is engaged (the clutch pedal is depressed), the power flow between the engine and the gearbox is interrupted. This means that when the clutch is not engaged, it is in the engaged (not free) state. Once the pedal is depressed (engaged), the clutch is disengaged (disengaged).

Removal
1. Remove the transmission. For additional information, refer to Section 308-03A / 308-03B / 308-03C.
2.
CAUTION: When reusing the clutch pressure plate, tighten the bolts evenly, in stages, working in a crisscross pattern, until the diaphragm spring is compressed (approximately two turns).
Disconnect the clutch from the flywheel. Remove the bolts and remove the pressure plate and driven clutch disc from the guide pins.

Installation
1. Center the clutch slave disc on the clutch pressure plate.

2.
CAUTION: Tighten the bolts evenly, in stages, working in a crisscross pattern, until the pressure plate is pressed against the flywheel.
Install the driven disk together with the pressure plate.
1. Using a special tool, install the pressure plate together with the driven disk centered on it onto the flywheel guide pins.
2. Tighten the clutch pressure plate bolts in a crisscross pattern (six bolts). Remove the alignment tool.

3. Install the transmission. For additional information, refer to Section 308-03A / 308-03B / 308-03C.
