Special tool

1. Disconnect the gear shift boot from the floor console.
2. Using the special tool, lock the gear shift lever.
3. Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Section 303-12.
4. Release the locking elements of the gear shift cable (white) and the gear selector cable (black).
5. Shift the gearshift mechanism to neutral (for clarity, the gearshift cable and gear selector cable are shown removed).
6. Adjust the gear shift cable (white) and gear selector cable (black) by pressing the locking elements.
7. Install the air filter. Refer to Section 303-12 for additional information.
8. Remove the special tool.
9. Attach the gear shift boot to the floor console.
