Removal
1. Drain the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
3. Disconnect the engine protection (if equipped).
4. Remove the accessory drive belt cover (if equipped).
5. Remove the accessory drive belt from the accessory drive belt tensioner.
6. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector.

CAUTION: Cap refrigerant lines and A/C compressor to prevent contamination.
Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor.
- Discard the O-rings as they are no longer needed.
8. Remove the air conditioning compressor.
Installation
1.
NOTE: Install new O-rings on the refrigerant lines.
NOTE: Apply clean refrigeration oil to the O-rings of the refrigerant lines before installation.
Install the elements back in place, working in reverse order.
