Handling contaminated refrigerant

CAUTION: Any R134a or R12 refrigerant contaminated with an incompatible refrigerant must be removed from the system. To do this, use an appropriate service unit designed for the purpose of collecting and storing contaminated refrigerant, which will prevent the possibility of this contaminated refrigerant entering other vehicles.

1. Use refrigerant identification equipment to check for contaminated refrigerant in the air conditioning system.

2. Inform the customer of the additional cost of repairing the system due to system contamination.

3. Remove contaminated refrigerant.
