CAUTION: Store cooling oil in a closed, airtight container to prevent moisture penetration.
NOTE: When replacing the A/C compressor, water separator or refrigerant lines, collect the refrigeration oil in a clean measuring container.
1.
NOTE: This procedure is only required if the A/C compressor is removed.
Drain the refrigeration oil from the A/C compressor.
- When draining the cooling oil, rotate the compressor shaft at least 6-8 times.
2.
NOTE: This procedure is only required if the water separator is removed.
Drain the cooling oil from the water separator.
3.
NOTE: This procedure is only required when removing the refrigerant lines.
Drain the cooling oil from the refrigerant lines.
4.
NOTE: When replacing more than one air conditioning system component, the amount of oil added must equal the total amount of oil drained from each individual component.
NOTE: Also add an amount of new refrigeration oil equal to the amount of oil collected in the service block oil separator when the air conditioning system was drained.
Add the calculated amount of new cooling oil. For more information, refer to the General Specifications chapter in this section.
