Removal
CAUTION: The water separator should only be replaced if moisture has been allowed to enter the open system for an extended period of time (2 - 3 hours).
1. Drain the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. For additional information, refer to Section 412-00.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for additional information.
3. Remove the engine protection (if present).

4. Remove the right wheel arch trim panel (wheel shown removed for clarity).

CAUTION: Cap the refrigerant lines and water separator to prevent dirt from entering.
Remove the water separator.
- 1. Using the special tool, disconnect the refrigerant line from the water separator.
- 2. Disconnect the refrigerant line from the water separator.
- 3. Loosen and remove the water separator nuts and bolts.

Installation
1.
NOTE: Install new O-rings on the refrigerant lines.
NOTE: Apply clean refrigeration oil to the O-rings before installing them on the refrigerant lines.
Install the elements back in place, working in reverse order.
