Main gear — design description

            0

The gearbox and final drive, along with the differential in the Focus, are in a common housing. The power from the engine to the gearbox is transmitted through one small and one large gear (final drive gear) to main gear.

Main gear transmission: 1 - differential case; 2 - dish gear; 3 - output shaft of the gearbox; 4 and 7 - bevel gears of satellites; 5 - spacer sleeve; 6 - planetary gear; 8 - axis of the satellites; 9 - distance and fixing ring.

The final drive gear is screwed to the differential housing. And finally, the drive shafts create a force-locked connection between the final drive and the wheel hub.
