If the drive shaft makes noise

Of course, the life of the drive shafts also depends on your riding style. Avoid sprint starts with the front wheels turned and the drive wheels spinning. From experience, noises that signal a defect appear suddenly. Make no mistake: even if the noises disappear again for a long time, carefully check the shafts.

Rhythmic thumping or clicking sounds that occur during acceleration or over idle (can change when turning the steering wheel), indicate a defect in the hinge on the wheel side.

If the steering wheel hits your hands hard when turning, then the outer joint of the drive shaft is also presumably damaged.

A clicking sound when starting off with the wheels turned all the way may indicate a defect in the drive shafts.

Attention: damage to wheel bearings is expressed by the same symptoms.
