Towing a car to jump start the engine (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

Turn on the ignition, put the transmission in second gear and press the clutch pedal.

The towing vehicle should approach smoothly.

At about 15 km/h, slowly engage the clutch. Always be ready to brake (hand on the handbrake!).

Once the engine starts, press the clutch pedal, disengage the gear and gently apply the gas.

Sound the horn of the towing vehicle and gently brake both vehicles.

Most cars with automatic transmissions are not towable. Don't tow it for a long time - it can damage the catalytic converter (see below). "Pushing the car"). Trust this work only to an experienced towing operator and remember that when the engine is not running, the braking distance is longer (the brake booster does not work).
