Jacking up
Warning: A car jack should only be used to raise the car when changing tires or placing stands under the frame. Never work under the car or start the engine if it is supported only by such a jack.
The vehicle must be parked on a level, flat surface. Move the gearshift lever to the "park" position in an automatic transmission or set it to first gear in a manual transmission. Block the wheel diagonally located to the wheel being changed. Apply the parking brake.
Place the scissor jack on the side of the vehicle so that it fits into the recess in the vertical panel of the flange closest to the wheel being replaced. There are such recesses for jacking up the vehicle on each side, front and rear (see figure).
Warning: When lifting the vehicle by other means, special care must be taken to avoid damage to the fuel tank, fuel filler neck, exhaust system or underbody.
Towing
If the vehicle is equipped with an automatic transmission, it can be towed on four wheels at a speed of no more than 55 km/h for a distance of 80 km. The distance limitation does not apply to vehicles with a manual transmission. Only special equipment should be used for towing. attached to the load-bearing parts of the vehicle structure. in no case to the bumper or suspension.
