Towing a car (Focus 1)

WARNING: When towing the vehicle, the ignition switch must be in position II (steering lock released and indicator lamps lit). Only then will the steering, turn signals, horn and brake lights operate. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury.

NOTE: The removable towing eye (if equipped) has left-hand threads and must be fully tightened before towing.

If you need to tow your vehicle, use its towing eyes. The cable should be securely and firmly tied to the towing eyes and the other vehicle in such a way that it does not stain the body.

When towing a vehicle with an automatic transmission, the gear selector lever must be in the "N" (neutral) position. Never tow a vehicle with an automatic transmission at a speed greater than 30 mph (50 km/h) or for a distance greater than 30 miles (50 km). If it is necessary to tow the vehicle for a longer distance, the drive wheels must be raised off the ground.

In addition, the vehicle can be transported on a low-bed tow truck or trailer.
