Climb

With the help of a portable jack, for which two installation points are provided on each side of the car.

With the help of a garage mobile jack. The jack installation points are shown in fig. 1.2.

When lifting the car with a mobile garage jack, install the jack at the points provided for it, if possible perpendicular to the car body.

In the case of using side points to lift the car, in order to avoid damage to the paint and body, you should use stands with square heads with soft pads, or additionally install wooden pads, the shape and dimensions of which are given in fig. 1.3. It is recommended to use stands of the type «tripod», by setting them like this. so that one of the legs is directed towards the side.

When installing stands at the rear of the vehicle at a point in front of the rear suspension arm, make sure that the stand does not come into contact with the arm.

Installing the car on stands start from the rear. When using a garage lift, install its fathers in the points provided for this on the car body, using wooden spacers to avoid damage to the paint or the body itself.

Towing

One towing unit is installed in the front and rear parts of the car (eyelet) (pic. 1.4), which allows towing a car for short distances using a flexible hitch. A chain, steel cable or rope can be used as a flexible hitch. It is allowed to tow a car on a flexible hitch for a distance of no more than 100 km at a speed of no more than 50 km/h on paved roads.

Moving a faulty car over long distances must be carried out on a platform for transporting cars. The towing cable is attached in front to the eyelet located in the lower right part of the body under the bumper, and in the rear - to the eyelet, also located in the lower right part under the bumper.

Before starting towing:
  • check the serviceability of the steering and brakes;
  • set the gear lever to the neutral position;
  • set the ignition key to position II (anti-theft device disengaged, steering, horn, brake and turn signals working, ignition warning light on).

WARNING: When the engine is stopped, the vacuum brake booster does not work, therefore, to brake the vehicle, more effort is required on the service brake pedals and a greater braking distance.

While driving, it is necessary to monitor the tension of the flexible coupling and keep it in a taut state, slightly braking the car if necessary.

When operating a vehicle with a trailer, do not exceed the maximum permitted towing weight and subject the rear axle and towing hitch to excessive loads (see table. 1.2.).
