Warning! To ensure road safety, always comply with the permitted trailer weight and the vehicle's towing hitch load (75 kg).
Failure to comply with the permitted loads on the vehicle's towing device may adversely affect handling and safety. Technical requirements, as well as road inspection requirements for the maximum load on the vehicle and trailer, are determined for a slope of up to 120% and an altitude of up to 1000 m above sea level.
Note: In high altitude areas above 1000 m, the thin atmosphere reduces engine power. You can find out more about trailer towing details at the Service Center.
To reduce the difficulty of towing, you can use the following calculations:
- For every 1000 meters above sea level, the permissible load on the machine must be reduced by 10%.
- For example, if you are going to drive at an altitude of 2400 meters, reduce the weight of the trailer by 20%.
Driving a car with a trailer on a downhill slope
Slow down in advance. Be aware of the limited capabilities of trailer brakes. Use the service brake carefully to avoid overheating.
If your car has an automatic transmission, move the lever to position 1 when going up or downhill.
Warning! The brakes on the trailer are not controlled by the ABS system.
