Car windshield washer (Transit 2)

Windshield

The windshield washer is supplied with fluid from a reservoir in the engine compartment. We recommend using Motorcra washing liquid.

Rear window

The rear window washer is supplied with fluid from a reservoir located on the right rear of the panel. Add clean water and Motorcraft washing liquid if necessary.

Headlight washer

The headlight washer system only operates when the parking lights are on and the windshield washers are operating.

The system is supplied with water from the windshield washer system.

Check the efficiency of the headlight washer system more frequently.

The washer nozzles can only be adjusted using a special tool available at the Service Center.

Adjusting the windshield washer nozzles

All injector nozzles can be finely adjusted with a pin.

Checking the condition of the windshield wipers

It is recommended to check the wiper blades by running your finger along the edge of the blade. Traces of grease, sand and fuel also interfere with the proper operation of the brushes. For cleaning your windshield wipers, we recommend Motorcraft cleaning paste.

Replacing windshield wiper blades

We recommend replacing your wiper blades before and after winter. To remove the brush, press the clip and pull the brush out of the wiper arm. Simply place the new brush on the lever.

Tires

For your safety:

Check your tire pressure every time you fill up (don't forget about the spare tire). The instructions define the pressures for cold tires.

Tire pressure must be adjusted according to the instructions, especially when carrying heavy loads or driving at high speeds. Low tire pressure reduces stability, increases rolling resistance, accelerates tire wear and leads to tire damage, which can lead to an accident.

If you need to go over a curb, do it only slowly, maintaining the approach angles if possible. Avoid large and sharp obstacles. When parking, do not touch the curb with the sidewall of the tire.

Check the treads regularly for cuts, foreign bodies and uneven wear. Uneven tread wear indicates poor wheel balance.

Replace your tire if the tread depth is less than 3 mm. The risk of hydroplaning increases significantly with insufficient tread depth.

Winter tires

Always install winter tires on all four wheels. Do not exceed the maximum speed specified by the tire manufacturer.

Washing the car

Wash your car with clean water. It is best to use a good machine wash. In winter, don't forget to wash the underside of your car regularly.

Hand wash: If you use shampoo, rinse the car with plenty of water. Then dry the car with a soft chamois.

Press the brakes a few times to dry them after washing the car.

Painting over minor damage

Minor damage and scratches from road grit can be touched up using Ford Paint Repair Foil, Aerosol Paint Spray, or Touch-up Paint. Follow the application instructions on the packaging

Cleaning the rear window

To avoid damaging the heating elements when cleaning the inside of the rear window, use only a soft cloth or damp chamois. Do not use solvents or sharp objects to clean glass.

Anti-corrosion coating of the lower part of the body

The underbody of your car has been treated against corrosion. The anti-corrosion coating should be checked regularly and, if necessary, renewed at a Service Center.

Cleaning aluminum cast wheels

Use Motorcraft Alloy Wheel Cleaner. Never use abrasive materials. This will permanently damage the special surface treatment.

• Tar stain remover "Tar Remover".
• Aerosol for driver's cabin "Cockpit Spray".
• Interior cleaner "Interior Cleaner".
• Anti-icer "Deicer".

Note: When polishing your car, be careful not to get polish on plastic surfaces, as it can be difficult to remove.
