1. Pull the handle located under the instrument panel.
2. Lift the hood slightly and turn the safety latch to the right.
3. Raise the hood and install its support.
To close the hood, remove the hood stop from the retaining clip, lower the hood, and let it fall from a height of approximately 20-30 cm. Make sure the hood is completely closed.
Engine oil dipstick
Check your engine oil every time you fill up with gas. Turn off the engine and wait a little while for the oil to drain into the crankcase. Remove the dipstick, wipe it with a lint-free cloth, reinsert it and remove it again. The oil level is determined by the level of the oil film between the two marks. If the level reaches the MIN mark, add oil immediately. Use only oil that meets Ford specifications. Adding approximately 0.5-1.0 liters of oil to the engine will raise the level to the MAX mark.
Note: When adding oil, never exceed the MAX mark.
Oil filler cap
The oil filler neck has a snap-on cap. Do not remove the cover while the engine is running.
The use of engine oil additives is not recommended or advisable. Under certain conditions, this may cause engine damage that is not covered by warranty.
Warning! Keep oils, lubricants, and other vehicle fluids out of the reach of children. Please follow the safety instructions on the containers. Avoid contact of used machine oil with skin. Please be mindful of environmental protection when disposing of used oil.
Automatic transmission fluid level
The transmission fluid level will be checked regularly at the Service Center during vehicle servicing. If you still need to check the level, do it as follows:
Check the fluid level when the engine is warm.
1. Apply the hand or foot brake to the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Move the gear shift lever through all positions three times with the engine idling.
3. Place the gearshift lever in position P and let the engine idle for one minute.
4. With the engine idling, remove the fluid level dipstick, wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth, reinsert it, and remove it. The upper boundary of the liquid film should be between the MIN and MAX marks.
If necessary, add working fluid to the automatic transmission through the dipstick tube with the engine turned off. Use only fluid that meets Ford specifications.
Warning! If you are working with the machine with the engine running or if you are leaving it, move the gear shift lever to position P.
Brake fluid reservoir
The brake fluid level should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the reservoir. If the level drops below the MIN mark, the brake fluid level indicator light comes on. Add only fluid that meets Ford specifications.
Warning: Avoid contact with skin or eyes. In case of contact, immediately wash the affected areas with plenty of water. Brake fluid can damage paint. If liquid gets on the surface, wipe it off immediately with a damp sponge.
When adding brake fluid, ensure maximum cleanliness. Any dirt that gets into the brake system can cause poor brake performance.
Cooling system
The coolant level is visible through the transparent walls of the expansion tank. When the engine is cold, the coolant level should reach the MAX mark. As the coolant heats up, it expands and can rise above the MAX mark.
Warning! Never open the lid. when the engine is hot.
If you need to add coolant while the engine is hot, wait 10 minutes. First, turn the cap only one turn to check the excess pressure in the cooling system. Wait a little, then open the lid completely. Fill the reservoir with a mixture of 50% coolant.
Coolant
Antifreeze-based coolants, having a significantly higher boiling point than water, not only protect the engine from overheating, but also protect the cooling system from freezing and corrosion.
Low-quality anti-corrosion additives make antifreezes ineffective at very high temperatures. Therefore, use only antifreeze recommended by Ford.
Add coolant only when the engine is cold
Warning: Avoid contact of antifreeze with skin and eyes. In case of contact, rinse area immediately with water.
Diesel engines
On diesel engine models there are two types of transparent containers. They have the MAX NOT mark on them (as hot as possible), MAX COLD (as cold as possible) and MIN or MAX and MIN At the operating temperature of the power steering system, the fluid level should reach the MAX HOT or MAX mark.
