If the starter is on strike, then often several nodes are to blame. For example, the electromagnetic switch or graphite brushes are jammed or worn. The support necks of the anchor shaft can also wear out in the supports. Before proceeding with the repair, it is better to decide in favor of an exchange starter or a used unit in good condition from a car after an accident. For parts, Ford only offers complete starter motors.
Stages of work
Disconnect the battery ground wire. In vehicles with an engine displacement of 1.4 / 1.6 liters and with a diesel engine, remove the air filter.
Disconnect the main current wire from the starter, disconnect the control wire from the electromagnetic switch.
Unscrew the mounting bots on the clutch bell, remove the starter from the clutch bell.
