Removing and installing the starter (Escort 5)

Removal

Remove the negative terminal from the battery. Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands.

Unscrew 2 nuts and remove the starter heat shield. Unscrew the nuts and disconnect the electrical wires from the starter and traction relay. Remove the connector from the oxygen sensor wire (see Fig. 5A.20, 5A.21).









Unscrew the bolts and remove the starter.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
