Stages of work
Support the vehicle securely on a level surface, remove the front wheel;
Disconnect the self-locking tie rod head nut on the tie rod arm of the steering pivot. Install a claw or ball joint puller (Ford 13-006).
Press the tie rod head out of the steering arm. Loosen the nut.
With a little luck, after replacing the tie rod head, you will be spared from adjusting the distance between the wheels. Before dismantling, note down the screwing dimension X and transfer it to the new tie rod head. If the car after repair does not pull to the side, then you can not take measurements
Loosen the clamp nut on the tie rod head and unscrew the shank. Accurately count the number of free threads on the head outside the tie rod. Mount the head with the same installation length: With precise work, you will probably be spared from adjusting the distance between the wheels.
