Remove the brake caliper as described above and fix it in the wheel housing. Do not bend the brake hose.

Unscrew the brake disc safety bolts and remove the disc from the wheel hub. Loosen jammed bolts with precise hammer blows (plastic hammer). Otherwise, use a puller.

Remove the tie rod heads.

Disconnect the ball joint 2 on the transverse arm. To do this, unscrew bolt 1 and remove the ball joint as described above. Protect the gasket with a soft cloth.

Press the ball joint out of the swivel steering column.

Disconnect the suspension strut from the steering column.

Unscrew the loosened nut on the wheel hub and remove the swivel steering support from the drive shaft with a puller. Important: the drive shaft must not protrude from the inner constant velocity joint.

Support the axle shaft to avoid sagging, or hang it with a wire in the wheel arch.

Remove the swivel steering support with wheel bearing assembly.

Installation

Slide the steering strut onto the suspension strut and align.

Slide the pivot steering assembly onto the pivot shaft. Once the first threads are loose, pre-tighten with a new axle nut.

Press the ball joint from below until it stops into the swivel steering support

Complete final assembly in reverse order. Make sure that all brake elements move freely. Use new clamping bolts and tighten them to 50 Nm.

Mount the ABS wheel sensor (observe the clearance to the toothed ring: 1±0.7 mm) and tighten to 9 Nm.
