Brake pads are always replaced in pairs on both sides of the axle. Otherwise, this will lead to different friction coefficients on the brake discs, which will later, under full braking, certainly throw the car out of the rut. Under the influence of heat, the brake pads change the structure of their material during the first 500 km: give the segments time to "sit" and, if possible, avoid full braking at first. Otherwise, the brake pads will quickly harden ("glass") and will later never be able to have their standard friction coefficients. In addition, scrupulously pay attention to the fact that the spare brake pads have an operating permit and AVE, which applies to your car. Stay away from dubious products at junkyards and better protect yourself by buying original spare parts from a Ford seller.

Dismantling on the front axle
Raise the front of the vehicle securely on a level surface. Remove the wheels.
Remove the brake hose from the holder.
Loosen the outer retaining spring.
Before removing the brake caliper, pull it outward to loosen the piston.
Remove the brake caliper - remove covers 1, unscrew mounting bolts 2.
To relieve the brake hose, hang the brake caliper with welding wire in the wheel well.
Pull the brake pad through the retaining tabs of the mounting spring.
Remove the outer trim.
Remove the inner trim.

Front axle mounting
Pull back the brake piston using the special tool "Ford 206-005 (12-014)" or a suitable pusher.
Caution: This will displace brake fluid from the master cylinder. Rinse off any leaking fluid immediately with water.
Lightly sand the brake disc.
Insert the inner brake lining.
Install the outer brake lining.
Pull the mounting spring over the mounting tabs.
Mount the brake caliper (tighten the bolts to 28 Nm), install the covers.

Mount the brake hose on the holder.
Secure the retaining spring correctly.
Mount the wheels.
Put the car on its wheels.
Press the brake pedal until you feel resistance. Only now will the pads be in contact with the brake disc.
Check the brake fluid level in the expansion tank. If necessary, suck it out with a pipette to the MAX mark or add fresh fluid to the MAX mark.
Brake carefully with new pads. On secondary roads, brake gently from 100 km/h to 50 km/h several times. Let the brakes cool in between.
Removal on the rear axle
Raise the rear of the vehicle securely on a level surface. Remove the wheels.
Remove the handbrake cable from lever 2. Before doing this, pull back lever 1. Remove clamp 3. Remove the handbrake cable and guide 4.
Disconnect the handbrake cable
Loosen the brake caliper mounting bolts and hang the brake caliper on welding wire in the wheel well to avoid damaging the brake hose.
Remove the brake segments.
Rear axle mounting
Pull back the brake piston using the special tool "Ford 206-012 (12-006)" or a suitable pusher.
Caution: This will displace brake fluid from the master cylinder. Rinse off any leaking fluid immediately with water.
Install the brake pads. To do this, make sure that the mounting springs are installed correctly in the brake caliper.
Install the brake caliper (tighten the mounting bolts to 35 Nm).
Hang the handbrake cable. Make sure the handbrake cable guide is positioned correctly. Mount the clamp.
Install the wheels, then proceed in the same way as when working on the front axle.
