Handbrake — General Information (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

With the handbrake (parking brake), you prevent the parked Focus from rolling away unintentionally or fix it when driving uphill. It exerts mechanical force on the rear wheels via the handbrake lever with cables. When the handbrake lever is engaged, it tensions the cables, actuates the lever on the brake caliper and finally acts on the cam. In order to automatically equalize the wear of the brake lining, the adjusting device in the rear brake caliper moves the so-called piston adjusting screw. You set the tensioning device if you pull the handbrake lever several times in succession.
