Dismantling the speaker

            0

Depending on equipment and model variant, your Focus has two full-range loudspeakers in the front door trim. In the back doors (in two-door models in side cladding) two other full range speakers are installed.

Front speakers

Turn off the radio.

To dismantle the speaker in the door, first remove its upholstery.

Loosen the speaker mounting screws with a screwdriver. Remove the speaker from the hole.

Carefully disconnect both speaker wires (handle connectors, not wires). The original wire sets have shaped connectors. To eliminate confusion in the two-wire line you laid, pre-mark the connections.

Installation in reverse order.

Rear speakers

Remove the B-pillar trim.

Loosen the side trim at the rear. Dismantle clamps (arrows).

Loosen the side trim

Remove the side trim. Using a compact slotted screwdriver, carefully pry the trim out of the mounting lugs (7) along the perimeter. Do not break the spacer pins.

Removing the side trim

Remove the speaker screws.

Dismantle the speaker, disconnect the speaker wire.

Complete installation in reverse order.

Rear speaker size must fit

Before you turn your Focus into a concert hall on wheels yourself, pay attention to the dimensions of the stock mounting holes. Be limited to speakers suitable for them, otherwise the electromagnetic effect of larger boxes may adversely affect the blocking effect of seat belts. Consequence: The belts become blocked and no longer work flawlessly.
