Ford is not only relying on alternative lines in the Focus – the interior also follows the design language of the new, refined design. With the longest wheelbase of any car in the C segment to date (2,615 mm), the Focus offers exemplary space efficiency, tasteful design and high safety standards: the new "Anti-Dive-Sitze" seats with soft cushion materials that make breathing easier increase both passive safety and comfort. Small children travel in the Focus in ISO-compliant child seats just as comfortably as the adults of families who usually spend their holidays in a "caravan". The Focus concept clearly places ergonomics, comfort and functionality at the forefront: all controls, including the radio, are easy to reach and clearly laid out. The interior materials are also harmoniously matched to each other; the Focus certainly justifies its cost in form and content.
Whether the costs of amateur work in the "Interior" chapter are equally justified, you will find out on the following pages. We recommend you those maintenance and repair works that will not exceed your strength. For example, a window lifter in the driver's door rarely lasts throughout the life of the car. And a "blind" interior light or a broken exterior mirror will annoy you more often than you would like. We will tell you when and where a professional should take up the matter in any case. Self-help makes sense not only in case of malfunctions - when selling a car, regular interior maintenance will prove to be an investment that retains its value.
