Checking the door contact switch (Focus Turnier 1)

            0

The interior lighting is controlled by door contact switches in the doors. The switches are located in the door wedge locks of the B or C pillars. If there are any malfunctions, check the switches.

Use a test lamp or multimeter to check if there is voltage in the door contact switches.

If not, first check fuse 36 in the central fuse box under the dashboard.

If no defect is found there, trace the voltage path from the fuse box to the contact switch.

Is there a break in the wire? Is the plug contact in the switch rusted? Is the switch jammed?

Fix the problem and remember to vigorously move all switches on the sliding surfaces afterwards.

If the switches stick, clean the sliding surfaces with cleaning gasoline and lightly lubricate the contacts.

If after this the lighting still does not work, replace the defective switch(es).
