Removing the roof antenna (Focus Turnier 1)

Factory-installed radios receive their information from the air via an antenna. Roof antennas are almost indestructible, provided they are not exposed to the brushes at a car wash. Therefore, unscrew the antenna from the base beforehand, otherwise the brushes will get tangled in the antenna and break it. You can minimize the resulting costs by buying a suitable antenna at an auto parts store and putting the savings from its installation in your pocket. If you have to do the entire installation again, it goes without saying that you should also hide the antenna wire under the decorative panel of the A-pillar and under the front edge of the ceiling.

Antenna base

Disconnect the battery.

Remove the interior light as described above, disconnect the connectors.

Remove the interior light trim panel.

Remove the mounting bolt at the base of the antenna (arrow).



Remove the antenna base from the roof upwards.

Align the new antenna base on the roof (screw the antenna to do this) and tighten.

Assemble all structural elements in reverse order.

Antenna wire

Mount the antenna base as described above.

Remove the A-pillar trim.

Remove the sun visor.

Carefully detach the front edge of the ceiling.

Lay the antenna wire freely.

Remove the radio as described above.

Pull the antenna wire out of the clamp near the heat exchanger housing.

Remove the antenna wire (arrow).



Route the new antenna wire and connect.

Assemble all structural elements in reverse order.
