Removing the radio

In the following description, we only consider the Ford radio program. When you later mount an additional radio, you must purchase a mounting kit suitable for your Focus - this will eliminate mounting and installation problems. Detailed installation instructions are included with the mounting kit.

Stages of work

If you have a radio with an anti-theft code, write down the code number before dismantling (Keycode).

Switch off the ignition, disconnect the battery.

Unlock the radio/cassette deck only with U-shaped wire corners. To do this, slide one corner 1 on each side into the holes provided for this purpose and press evenly outwards (see arrow). In this way, you will unload the mounting grips.

Carefully and evenly (without distortion) pull the radio out of mounting hole 2 with wire angles. This will prevent damage to the receiver's mountings.



Disconnect the antenna wire, current connection, speaker plug connection and earth connection (see arrows), if necessary, mark for mounting.



Mount the structural elements in reverse order.
