Withdrawal

8. Oil pump and intermediate shaft (oil pump) mounted in the control chain cover. A description of the removal of the intermediate shaft is included in section 10.

9. Remove the oil filter (Chapter 1) and cover bolts Clean and inspect the oil pump cavity. If the oil pump gear seat in the camshaft timing chain cover is damaged or worn, replace the cover.

10. The oil receiver of the pump is made as a single unit with the oil pan. To access it, remove the oil pan (section 14).

Unscrew the oil receiver tube nut and two mounting bolts (see pictures). Remove the oil receiver from the engine.

Installation

11. Install the pump gears into the housing so that their planes are aligned with the surface of the cover. If the gears do not sit tight, check the contact point of the drive wheel with the intermediate shaft. You may have installed it incorrectly.

12. Stuff the cavity with special "gasoline" grease (petrolatum), install the cover. Tighten the bolts to the required tightening torque.

13. Install a new oil filter, add oil, start the engine. Check for leaks.
